Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory.

The meaning of the second quotation is that true victory is both achieved and felt, but only if the would-be victor is willing to accept the obstacles and difficulties that stand in the way of victory. Overcoming those will prove to be all the more rewarding. A sense of pride will be invoked in the victor upon achieving his/her victory. The two sides of my theme concept are explained by telling that victory is exhilarating only when challenging, so perseverance also plays a role in victory which the two side of my theme project will explain in further detail. 

If there are no challenges, than the victory will not be satisfying for the the victor in any way. Suppose one plays a video game that is very difficult. To avoid difficulty, one uses a cheat code which enables one to overcome said difficulties. The game would become boring and the victory not very exciting at all. This can serve as an example for victory from any aspect...... 

George S. Patton was a General in the U.S. army. This particular quote was probably recorded during World War II, as that war was a very hard war for the allies to win. Patton was a very successful general, so it makes sense that this sort of quote would be said by him.
